A Disciple of Jesus Christ: Being a Christian vs Being a Disciple of Jesus Christ [Part 1] Scripture Reflections to Consider: What is one of the biggest things a disciple needs? What must happen first before you can be a disciple? Do you have a desire for Jesus? Do you have a desire to be around others who talk about Jesus? How many disciples are Christians? How many Christians are disciples? What is a disciple? Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test? John 5:24 - "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. John 1:12 - Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - John 3:2 - He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." John 3:3 - In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." 2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Matthew 28:18 - Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matthew 28:19 - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:20 - and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 4:18 - As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. Matthew 4:19 - "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:20 - At once they left their nets and followed him. Ephesians 5:1 - Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children Ephesians 5:2 - and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 1 Corinthians 11:1 - Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Philippians 4:9 - Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
